Rehab number three

Rebuild

Going into my third rehab was a really hard one to accept.

When you get injured once, it sucks. When it happens again, it hurts even more. But when you find yourself back in rehab for the third time, it hits differently. It is hard not to overthink everything or compare where I am now to where I thought I would be.

But I also do not want to keep calling it rehab.

I want to call it a rebuild.

I am rebuilding my body and knee, my confidence, and my skiing career step by step. It feels less like trying to “come back” and more like starting fresh and doing things properly.

Until July, I am just in the gym and working on the things that help my skiing by skating, climbing and other activities. Strength, stability, mobility, fitness, mindset, all that stuff. It is not the most exciting part, but its the base for skiing.

When I pass my testing, the plan is to go to New Zealand. That is what I am working towards right now. Goal in NZ is to get my confidence in skiing back, no crazy stuff, just having fun.

For next season, I do not want to rush back into competitions or stress about proving anything. I want to use the season properly and build a competition run that I actually feel good about for 2027/28.

So yeah, it is not exactly where I wanted to be, but it is where I am. And I am trying to make the best out of it.

Rehab sounds like going backwards.

Rebuild sounds more like where I am headed.
